Misty grew up in Lincoln County and has always had a love of animals and the veterinary field. Her first job out of high school was an assistant. Then she moved up to technician while employed at another hospital. After several years in the field took a break to have her 3 children. Once they were able to go to school she decided to go back to her passion!
Misty has been with Midway since 2020 as the surgery technician. In the past two years Midway’s surgery schedule grew requiring more technicians to assist. Misty was moved to the surgical lead tech position at the beginning of 2022 and spends her days educating assistants, monitoring patients, and ensuring the best care possible is given.
In her spare time she enjoys her children, her 4 dogs, 2 guinea pigs, birds and chickens. She is our lover of Chihuahuas, and always takes time to cuddle and love on every one that passes. She also loves any place that has a beach, shells, waves and warm weather.
Amy Maggard
Inventory Manager/Dental Specialist

Amy has been involved in veterinary medicine since 1987. She has been a cornerstone of the Midway team since 1999. Amy prides herself in compassionate care of hospitalized patients. For as long as anyone can remember, Amy has been the number one dental technician at Midway, and strives to stay on top of new advancements in dental care. She is the inventory expert, keeping up with the influx of products in our extremely busy hospital.
When not being a superhero and someone that everyone looks up to at Midway, Amy enjoys cooking and spending time with her family, including her two grandsons, who are her pride and joy.
Ashley Springston

Ashley is originally from Falls Church Virginia but has lived in Somerset, KY since 2014. She attended East Carolina University in North Carolina after high school, where she studied Child Development and Family Relations. She has been part of the Midway Family since January 2017.
Working with animals and helping with rescues has always been a dream and passion of hers. Ashley is dedicated to helping strays, abandoned and sick animals that would otherwise not receive any care. She raises money, fosters, and transports on a weekly basis to help the community. She has 5 dogs, 3 cats and a duck of her own who are her entire world.
Debbie Pieroni
Lab/Pharmacy Manager

Debbie has lived in Somerset since 2000. She has been a Midway client since, feeling at home with the compassionate way Midway’s doctors and staff treated her animals, even through difficult diagnosis.
Midway was Debbie’s dream job, and she has done so since 2014. She began as a receptionist for 6 years, then helped spearhead the in-room check out program. With her background in customer service and interest in all things veterinary, Debbie advanced to Lab/Pharmacy manager last spring.
Debbie and her husband Mario spend their time enjoying life at their “Mountain Retreat” with their 3 dogs (a golden, a brittney and a lab.mix), 2 cats, an Umbrella Cockatoo and an African Sulcata tortoise. She enjoys spending time with her family and floating on the lake!
